Rebel Nun is the sister cheese to Renegade Monk. More Penicillium Roquefort is used in the recipe resulting in a more pronounced mineral blue in the taste with less of the rind washed ale. Rebel Nun is usually perceived as being milder than Renegade Monk, though with the increase in the quantity of blue culture this is something of a moot point. In 2021 Rebel Nun won Gold at the Global Cheese Awards and one star in the Great Taste Awards.
